Coping with Relapse:

After experiencing chronic relapse, it’s common to find oneself immersed in feelings of guilt and shame. While a degree of guilt can help recognize personal responsibility and maintain accountability in the recovery process, excessive guilt can lead to a state of depression and hopelessness. This can manifest as the inner voice suggesting one isn’t deserving of care and that trying again is futile. Often, lingering guilt over past actions or a minor setback can escalate into a full relapse. Instead of remaining in this emotional darkness, it’s essential to acknowledge guilt as a signal to take responsibility for past actions, and then swiftly move forward.

Certainly, this is easier said than done. As a Recovery Coach, I specialize in helping individuals discover new strategies to release guilt and progress confidently in their recovery journey.
