Biography

I was diagnosed with ADHD in grade two and began a course of prescribed ADHD medication that got me through high school. I found that I had an established pattern; I did well in the classes that interested me and struggled with those I did not. After matric I took a gap year to consider my future and my career options. During this time I stopped taking my medication because I had been advised that I would grow out of my ADHD and wouldn’t need the medication as an adult.

When I did my undergraduate degree in architecture, I found that I repeated my pattern of doing well with subjects that engaged me and struggled with those that didn’t. Although I achieved the degree without medication it took me two years longer than it should have. It was only as I was working on my honors and masters I realised that,
even though I was working extremely long hours and understood the material, I was missing deadlines and falling behind my classmates. In seeking help I found Dr Jeeva and with his advice I was able to resume medication and achieve the academic results that my hard work merited.

Dr Jeeva educated me on the differences between adult and child ADHD and not only worked with me to find the right medication regimen for me, but also referred me to The School of Life to help me gain the life skills I needed to graduate with my masters degree in Architecture, specialising in the design of educational spaces for children with ADHD and autism (ASD). In my professional life I have discovered that while I still love all aspects of design, my true passion is in education and helping people (with and without ADHD) to find practical solutions to navigate the modern work environment, whether that be at home, in school or in the office. I believe that with the right tools and motivation everyone has the power to excel.

Biography

My journey of self-discovery started in 2016. After 12 successful years in the fast paced fashion industry I experienced severe burn out and was also diagnosed ADHD. This led me to seek the guidance of a Life Coach as part of my therapy and it was through this experience that I was able to unpack and process the events that led to my breaking point. It was from this space that I began to grow and change into a more stable, grateful and resilient person.

I completed my life skills coaching course in 2018.

I offer professional and insightful one-one-one life skill coaching, workshops as well as couples coaching and group coaching sessions.

I also work as a life skills coach at The Bell House which is an independent living facility catering for individuals who suffer with a variety of mental disorders. I teach coping skills to the residents as a group.

As one of three directors of NPO; The School of Life, I am committed to connecting opportunities for corporates and individuals to work in communities help break the cycle of poverty. This includes up-skilling orphaned and vulnerable young adults through life skills training and workshops.

Biography

I am an Advocate by profession. I hold an LLB degree, a postgraduate diploma in Labour Law and a partially completed LLM degree.

I am an Autistic individual, diagnosed with Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) and an array of co-morbidities.

I am Mom to two Autistic kids diagnosed with ADHD (and then some).

I spent the majority of my life on a journey to find out more about my neurodiversity. A journey which highlighted the huge gap in people’s knowledge of neurodiverse conditions.

A journey riddled with obstacles ranging from ‘a lack of support’; ‘a lack of acknowledgement’; ‘a lack of acceptance’ (to name a few).

A journey which saw my legal practice burst into flames… ‘not because I was incompetent’; ‘not because I lacked intellectual skills’; ‘not because I lacked enthusiasm’ … BUT…’because of a lack of support’; ‘because of a lack of acknowledgement’; ‘because of a lack of acceptance’.

A journey which saw me claw my way out of the ashes Authentically Autistic and Unapologetically Neurodiverse… ‘not because I was less neurodiverse’; ‘not because I had less co-morbidities’; ‘not because I had less challenges’… BUT… ‘because I have developed a voracious appetite for knowledge of everything neurodiverse’; ‘because I learnt how to communicate my needs’; and most of all ‘because I became a part of like-minded individual.

what is coaching

At the core of life and wellness coaching is the belief that every person has the capability to be, do, and have anything they desire. We are all unique individuals, yet we share one very powerful attribute – the ability to create our own reality through our thoughts, intentions, beliefs, and actions. This approach to personal development focuses on solutions, aiming to help people make positive and lasting changes in their lives. Clients are encouraged to realize their true potential by following a process that uncovers and eliminates obstructive thinking and behavioral patterns. The life coach facilitates this change using tried and trusted emotional intelligence skills, life skills, tools, and techniques to empower their clients in a caring, supportive, and inspiring environment.
