Schizophrenia Care Coaching (Six One Hour Modules)

There will be a question and answer session allocated at the end of each of these sessions.

First session:

  • What is Schizophrenia?
  • Definition of Schizophrenia, its causes, and symptoms.
  • Myths about Schizophrenia.
  • Removing stigma associated with Schizophrenia.

Second session:

  • How do we treat Schizophrenia?
  • Therapy and medication.
  • Accepting your diagnosis.
  • Becoming an expert on your illness.

Third session:

  • Identifying emotions.
  • Using this to help recognize red flags.
  • Monitoring your mood (mood diary).
  • Tracking Schizophrenia symptoms and identifying patterns.

Fourth session:

  • Managing symptoms.
  • Education on medication and different therapy approaches.
  • Problem-solving and enhancing social skills.
  • Reintegrating the client into a structured environment.

Fifth session:

  • Self-help strategies for Schizophrenia.
  • Suggestions and recommendations, including books or websites.
  • Establishing a stable routine.
  • Focus on nutrition, sleep, hygiene, etc.
  • Assigning homework (worksheets for the client to complete).
  • Listening to your doctor’s advice.

Sixth session:

  • Creating an emergency treatment plan.
  • Addressing suicidal thoughts, self-harm, and psychosis.
  • Recognizing negative feelings and knowing whom to contact.
  • Understanding psychosis.
